What am I doing?
I came up with this great project about 6 months ago...and so I decided to do it this summer. It entailed reading all of the Caldecott award winners and analyzing them based on if there were fathers in the stories and how those fathers were represented. I've read and coded all but 5 of the 68 books. Now I have to actually come up with something to say. Total blank. I have to write a paper about this for an incomplete I took last semester. Total blank. I've never really done content analysis to this extent before and I find myself sitting here asking: "Why did I start this project? What can I possibly say about this?" So, I've decided to postpone it another day. I can't be a creative intellect today, so I'm going to move on and spend the rest of the day reading others creative works of intellect. *sigh* Tomorrow, hopefully, I can create my own smart piece of sociology.

Wow, that was a brilliant idea! Whtat were the stats?
Mair,
Great idea to take some time off of this subject. Way back when (in my college days) I learned that your subconscious mind will create for you when you pose a problem to it. So, relax, go to the pool, have fun. I think that the phrase "sleep on it," was created for this purpose.
Hi, Mair,
What an interesting project...very creative. I was workong on a piece junior year, and I hit a plateau. I just couldn't make happen what my professor wanted. So he made me put the piece away for a year. I took it out a year later, and made tons of progress. It ended up making the cut for the senior recital.
It doesn't sound like you have year, but taking some time to not think about it at all seems to allow the mind to connect the dots. Funny how that works.
Good luck!
