Injustice at it's finest

I read this article this morning and was a little bit peeved. This man has not eaten a single serving of produce in 25 years and his LDL is lower than mine. I spent my whole summer eating mostly vegetarian and working out fairly regularly in order to combat my genetic-background that puts me at risk for heart disease. I had my cholesterol checked a few weeks ago and it was worse than it was 2 years ago...before my new diet and exercise regimen. What does this prove? NOT that being mostly vegetarian isn't healthy or beneficial, but that genetics trumps all when it comes to heart health. I'm nervous considering that I'm young...and my good cholesterol already seems to be plummeting while the bad climbs. I think I'll still try to stick with healthy food just to be safe. Don't worry, Dad...I still love you.

That's quite the informative article there. If only information knocked off some LDL points.

I haven't gotten my levels checked because insurance doesn't cover it just yet, but I'm worried, too. My mother's aunts and uncles all die of sudden massive heart attacks. Let's hope I take after my father's longevity-prone ancestors.

Hi, Mair,

You would be interested to know that I'm taking a Ritual Studies class from the Theology dept. this semester.

So far, we've been tossing around lot of Sociology terms and reviewing Peter Berger and the Social Construction of Reality. All this I gladly remember from SOCI 101, since I enjoyed the class so much.

Since Ritual Studies seems to be a fairly recent development as far as a discipline is concerned, I'm curious to know if you had to take a similar course. If yes, what did you think of it?

I hope you're doing well.
