Bye-Bye June

Now, I know June is coming to a close, and that makes me painfully aware of two things:

1) summer is going by much more quickly than I would like, and
2) Redhurt will be posting his end of the month blogger tallies soon.

I know I'm only ringing in with a pathetic 3 right now, so I'm making a desperate attempt at one more.
Here's why I haven't posted more regularly.

1) I've been reading all of these books for my summer project (which I must do to make up for the incomplete I took in culture class in the Spring.
2) I've also been reading an amazingly huge (in size and intellect!) book by Charles Taylor for a class I'm taking in the fall, along with Habits of the Heart (which I should be shamed to not have read by now), and various other books for my summer directed reading.
3) I've been trying not to drown in all the rain we've been getting around here.
4) My computer broke. Seriously. Sounds like a pathetic excuse my undergrads would've come up with, but it's true. I'm posting this from elsewhere, since my pretty iBook is in the shop. grrrrr...

This weekend, we're heading up to Pennsylvania for a wedding and to visit my family. Maybe next week I'll get my computer back and maybe next month I'll have a higher total in the blogging race. Until then...

Hey, it's never too late to add an extra mark to the tally! And we prefer quality rather than quantity anyway, so keep up the good work.

As for your computer, you can get a sweet deal on the new macbook right now. You acn get a pro on ebay for around $1500 - my brother did with no problems. I bet you could raise that in about a week through a clever combination of your husband, a hula-hoop, and a webcam.

Sorry Redness, I'm pretty sure what you're proposing is illegal up and down the East Coast. You might be able to get away it out in your lawless frontier village, but not out here.
