Onward and upward
I did it. I successfully completed and presented my master's thesis. It feels so good to have it behind me. In retrospect, I can't really justify all the fuss, because once over and done, it seems like it was not that bad to present it to the faculty. I really did almost break my leg (Redhurt!) before my presentation, though. While walking to lunch with J.Morgan, I proved why academics aren't fashionable by falling down some cement steps when my kitten heel slid out from under me. Nothin quite so graceful as taking a serious tumble next to the Rotunda. But, my pride and my skeleton survived.
We spent the weekend in style - finally managing to get to the National Gallery to see the Cezzane exhibit, dining out in Georgetown with E.A.P., going to a good friend's wedding, and hanging out with E.A.P some more (which we can never get enough of!)
So, next weekend, I'll be getting a hood and a degree. Hopefully I won't biff it down anymore steps before then, seeing as I'll have to partake of the traditional walk down the lawn. I'm looking forward to the summer. I'm working two days a week baby-sitting and spending the rest of my time doing my own academic work. I'm working on a project examining representations of father figures in children's books, and doing an independent study on identity construction. It should be nice - two projects I'm excited about and interested in. Yay!
First, however, I have to administer and grade the Soc 101 final, which weighs in at 14 pages!!! That's what I'll be doing from Thursday evening til Monday morning! See ya afterwards.
