Exciting news (no mom, I'm not pregnant)

I did it. I turned a draft in to my chair and my reader today. I await their comments (anxiously). Then, I came home this afternoon and slept for an hour and a half. Haven't done that in a long time. I haven't slept well the past few nights, though. I probably got a good 5 hours each night for the past two nights. I just couldn't sleep! I think it's anxiety. But, hopefully it is passing.

I don't know why this paper was so hard. It isn't much longer than other papers I've written. I think it's because it required more mental energy than most of the papers I write. This will sound self-absorbed, and it's not meant to, but I usually don't have to work that hard to write good papers. But, with this, I just kept staring at my regressions trying to figure out what the heck to say! I worked and worked, and hopefully said something intelligent. I think my findings ended up being pretty good. Of course, it goes without saying that Joshua is the best helper EVER. He even let me give him a mini-lesson on OLS regression so that he could help me make sense of my results. :o)

In other news, yesterday was a big day for us. We went and picked up the first car we've ever bought together! That's right folks, the SUV is on it's way out. When I picked Josh up from work to head down to Richmond to get the car, he handed me a cd that said "The End of An Era: Explorer's last Mix." It was sad in a way. We've had lots of adventured in that car and spent many many hours in it together on the road. But, it was exciting to because we got an absolutely amazing deal on the car we've been wanting all along - a 2000 Volkswagen Passat wagon!! It's silver, and it's pretty, and it has very low mileage. And, Josh let me drive it back from Richmond last night. So, as soon as we can figure out the DMV bureaucracy and get plates on it, we'll be drivin in style and are sooo happy about it! YAY!

That car is so perfect for you guys. Plus I know there's a gay joke for Josh in there somewhere, so I think Keith is gonna wet himself trying to make the perfect one. Which means he'll be too busy to actually write it in a comment. Anyway, he and I say HI! and congrats.

And I personally think it's fine that you're not pregnant, and also odd that we should both make such hay over our empty uteruses (uteri?) mere hours apart. I totally didn't crib you, if that's what you're wondering . . . Heh, "crib." Okay I REALLY need to shut up now. BYE!
