Sweet Home Pennsylvania
I'm in PA for the week, visiting my parents and hopefully a few other people. The week is quickly passing and so far I haven't seen any of the friends I had hoped to. But, I will make some more calls today and hopefully get to see them. News flash for all you alumni out there, PA has been cloudy, rainy and cold since my arrival on Sunday. Also, I read on the web that commencement was held indoors again this year on a "drizzly Saturday." Well, aren't all Saturday's in the Grove drizzly??? It was 80 and sunny when I left Virginia on Sunday. I'm not sure the sun has shined once since I've been in PA. Oh well, home is still home.
My mom's cat has only bitten me once. That's a new record. She is actually being mostly nice to me. Hopefully this trend will continue.
We were visiting Gram yesterday at the home and my mom has a friend who is there. His name is William. He's in his 70s and is there b/c he had a stroke and can't walk too well now. But, he is spry and clever. We stopped in on him and he found out I was visiting from VA. He said: "You know, there is a type of apple called the Northern Spy. It's a very good apple, they sell them at the apple castle. But, you know, they aren't allowed to take them down South." Then he gave a cute little smile. I like William and his jokes. Gram seems to be going alright. She has good days and bad days. She was doing well last night when we visited. I miss her.
Well, I better go start my day. Just wanted to say hello and let my readers know that I'm alive. I haven't blogged sooner because my parents computer has this annoying security software that won't let you do just about anything normal. You have to deal with about 15 pop-ups, get a child abuse clearance from the state, and submit 5 letters of reference before you are able to check your email. I'm sure it's because of the Patriot Act.

Man, can I sympathize with the computer frustrations!! The last time I visited, I almost murdered that thing!!! I think dad needs the help of my personal engineer.
William told me the lady down the hall from him was growing marajuana in the garden. :) He's sassy!
Be it ever so dreary, there's no place like home. I miss it.
