So Stereotypical I want to Scream...
You know those moments when stereotypes are just too real???? Well, I'm sitting here in Starbucks and there are two Asian men sitting across from me...you guessed it, TAKING PICTURES!!! I mean, COME ON! All that needs to happen now is a black urban youth to come in, rob the place, and then some Mexicans can drive by piled in the back of a pick-up, just in time to see some effeminate gays wearing purple and drinking lattes, just as the lesbians come by in their carpenter jeans screaming "castrate men!" and then the co-eds bounce by in their micro-mini's and pointy-toe heels listening to their i-pods!!
*sigh* Even the sociologist in me can't help but see that sometimes the world is neatly packaged and predictable.

I love stereotypes. I really do. They make the world so tidy and comfortable.
- The Man in Black is Back, Mack (expect to hear from him often)
I'm so happy to hear from BOTH the world's most suave "nerd" (i mean that in the most loving way possible) and the man in black himself. If I had to stereotype the man in black, I would say that he must be wearing a kilt and playing the bagpipes. :o)
my daddy always cautioned me against making "sweeping generalizations" :)
Your daddy and mine...but that's why it's so frustrating when you see things so inline with stereotypes. For instance, Josh had to get some pants hemmed, so we went to this place called "superb alterations" (they were, by the way!) When we left, he said, "I was really hoping that it wouldn't be an asian woman sitting there with a sewing machine." But, it was. C-ville, being a southern city and all, is pretty far behind the line on race relations...and it's hard to hope for change when all the black live, literally, on the other side of the tracks, when 9 times out of 10, lanscapers are Mexican...etc.
At at any rate, I was just trying to be humorous in my commentary on stereotypes and hope i didn't offend anyone.
