The fuzz
In college, I grew progressively tired of living in a dorm and having to deal with other people's noise. Keep in mind, I went to Grove City, where noise translates into a group of girls laughing and screaming, running through the hall proclaiming the most recent engagement, or the occasional loud music. However, for someone like me whose requirements for a good night sleep include DARK and QUIET on the top of the list, noise was noise. So...When I graduated I thought I made it into the adult world, where the amount of noise invading my space would only come from myself and my husband. HA!
We happen to live in an apartment building populated by undergrads. Some of you may have already had the joy of hearing about (or observing for yourself) the amazing Elephant Walker who lives upstairs. Saturday night, however, she was not the offender. Our neighbors across the hall decided to have a humongous party, complete with girls screaming, underage drinking and VERY loud music. By very loud, I mean this: Josh and I were watching a movie and we had to turn the volume on our tv to 45 before we could hear the movie. Yeah. So, we waited until 10pm (at which time the C-ville noise ordinance kicks in) and Josh was on the phone with the police. SO, being the sociologist (SNOOP) that I am, I watched the whole thing through the peephole. That's what they're for, right?? The cop took care of it in a typical cop arrogant fashion....so the music went off....the screaming subsided...for awhile...until the drunkenness kicked in, and I awoke to kids throwing beer cans off the fire escape and laughing as they almost hit the cars below. Oh...college. I thought it was over.

ROCKIN blog, M-Lo! I'm so excited that you have one since we can comment on each other's blogs and stop feeling bad about "not keeping up" with emails and such. And, though we might have met over hair envy, it's our love for each other that has kept our competitive endeavors fun and healthy. In case your were wondering, I won this time. >;)
Nice work, J. Morgan.
Charles Peirce, huh? I am so flattered that my blog has been visited by a pragmatist philsopher of such great renown! I am humbled by your presence here and I thank you for reading.
